A Resource Worth Knowing About: TimelyCare at LSUS

LSUS students have access to virtual medical and mental health support through TimelyCare.

College life comes with a lot of moving parts. Classes, work, family, finances, and everything in between can make it hard to prioritize your health, especially when you’re not sure where to start. One resource available to LSUS students that often goes unnoticed is TimelyCare, a virtual platform that offers mental health, medical, and wellness support.

TimelyCare is available 24/7 and is already included in student tuition through the health and wellness fee. There’s no additional cost to use it, and it’s designed to be flexible for students with busy schedules.

What is TimelyCare?

TimelyCare is a secure, online service that allows LSUS students to access medical care, mental health support, and wellness tools from wherever they are. Appointments and on-demand services are available, which can be helpful if campus offices are closed or if in-person visits aren’t an option.

What kinds of support are available?

LSUS students have access to a range of services, including:

MedicalNow – On-demand care for common health concerns such as colds, flu, and allergies.
TalkNow – 24/7 emotional support for things like stress, anxiety, relationship concerns, or school-related pressure.
Scheduled Medical Visits – The option to choose a time and provider that fits your schedule.
Scheduled Counseling – Ongoing mental health counseling with licensed providers (visit limits may apply).
Health Coaching – Support for topics like nutrition, sleep, time management, and mindfulness.
Psychiatry – Psychiatric services available through provider referral.
Basic Needs Support – Help connecting with low-cost or free community resources, including food, housing, transportation, childcare, and financial assistance.
Success Coaching – Academic and life skills support, including goal setting, study strategies, budgeting, career exploration, and resume reviews.
Self-Care Content – Guided activities and resources focused on well-being.
Peer Community – An anonymous space for students to connect with others facing similar challenges.

Looking ahead:

TimelyCare is part of LSUS’s broader effort to support student health and well-being. In the future, the university hopes to expand services further with a planned on-campus health care center, funded through the same health and wellness fee students currently pay.
