Over a decade ago, Shreveport Bossier made a tradition, bringing people skyward and opening the air to dozens of the country's top hot-air balloon pilots for the annual Red River Balloon Rally and Louisiana State Ballooning Championship. Now thousands of people flood the region every year for a glimpse of vibrant colors gliding through the clouds. This year, the festivities are returning on July 10 and 11.
The Red River Balloon Rally at Louisiana Downs in Bossier City is a mirage of color and an activity-filled celebration that offers more than just hot air balloons. There are a myriad of family friendly indoor and outdoor activities including live music, tethered balloon rides, a variety of vendors for delicious festival food and handmade gifts, and games to keep kids entertained.
