LSUS Athletic Director Lucas Morgan to be named Athletic Director of the year at NACDA’s 60th Annual Convention

The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) will recognize LSUS Athletic Director Lucas Morgan as an Athletic Director of the Year recipient at the NACDA 60th Annual Convention on Tuesday, June 10th.

Shreveport, LA - After a perfect season for the LSUS Pilots Baseball Team, LSUS is recognized nationally again through Athletic Director Lucas Morgan.

Morgan, along with 27 other impressive collegiate directors, will be honored with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Athletic Director of the Year (ADOY) Award at the NACDA's 60th Annual Convention at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday, June 10, at 4 p.m.

The ADOY Awards program includes NCAA FBS, FCS, Divisions I-AAA, II, and III, as well as the NAIA (LSUS’s athletics division), along with other Four-Year Institutions and Junior/Community Colleges, to celebrate athletics directors who have shown excellence either on campus or in the community.

Morgan began his journey at LSUS in 2016, where he, alongside the LSUS athletic department, has gained national recognition.

LSUS News says that during Morgan’s tenure, LSUS athletics was recognized for 33 Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) championships, 32 national tournament appearances, and six NAIA Opening Rounds titles with an outstanding 65% of LSUS athletics students reported as maintaining a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Morgan’s nomination as a NACDA athletic director of the year highlights not only Morgan’s outstanding leadership but also the LSUS Athletic Department’s drive for excellence on and off the field.
